I am at peace

I am at peace with Valentine’s day 😁

I don’t hate it but I don’t celebrate it either.
Love seems to be the most important word in the English language, yet it is also the most confusing. We use it in thousand of ways. We say, “I love him,” and in the next breath, “I love your hair.”
Our society is peppered with the word.

I still don’t understand why we need a special day to celebrate our unending devotion for the significant other or for our family and friends. Shouldn’t we cherish each other’s existence every day??

Weeks leading to the D-day are always filled with reminders of romance and expectations skyrocketed which in my opinion may very well lead to a haphazard emotional state. I have seen far too many girls had their hearts broken on this day and boys had nervous breakdowns from the pressure of producing something great. Having said that, I fully respect those who make special arrangements on this holiday to proclaim their eternal love to their partners and I salute those who get on with their lives just like another day.

As for me, the day is spent with my hubs just like another Saturday when cleaning the house and cooking are the main agenda. In closing, in this month of love parade, I wish all of us to have someone who loves and believes in us as much as Kanye does Beyonce 😁😝😂
